PRESS RELEASE

The Manor Kindergarten Opens a second setting in Overbury, Gloucestershire.

Following its establishment in 2001 at its initial location in Dumbleton, Worcestershire The Manor Kindergarten has now added a second site at Overbury in Gloucestershire.

The setting provides care for children from the age of 1 to 5 plus wraparound care and holiday club facilities for children up to the age of 11.

The new Manor Kindergarten at Overbury builds on the successes of the Dumbleton site which has received top marks from its Ofsted inspections and now provides care for over 50 children. The emphasis is on a broad-based curriculum including activities such as Forest School, Music with influences from Montessori and Reggio Emilia.

Care is provided from 8:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the evening and includes Breakfast and After School Club.

The new school is dedicated to working closely with the local community and the excellent adjoining primary school: Overbury C of E First School.

The first children have already started at the Overbury location following a most successful Open Day held at the begining of July to celebrate the completion of the new purpose built premises.

The building itself is based on a large open-plan design with dedicated areas for activities such as wet-play, reading, gym and sciences etc. Additional rooms are provided as dedicated sleep areas and for smaller group activities. It is surrounded by a large well equiped grass play area and there is plenty of dedicated off-street parking.

“This additional site represents a fantastic opportunity to build on the great achievements of the Dumbleton team, to develop our resources, grow our team and continue to provide a nurturing and caring environment for the children of the local community” says Alison Markos, Director of The Manor Kindergarten.

"Children are a vital part of any community and we are delighted to be involved with a project like this," says Penelope Bossom from the Overbury Estate. "We are always keen to attract families to the village and being able to offer a purpose built nursery in addition to our excellent first school and an outstanding junior section in the cricket club, will improve the facilities we are able to offer young people."

“We are very much looking forward to working with The Manor Kindergarten”, says Overbury First School headteacher, Val Wilkinson, “Once the new building has been completed just the other side of our playground, we will between us be able to provide for children from one to ten years all on one site, which should make life much easier for parents. This is a really exciting development.”
