It is our duty to ensure that The Manor provides an environment which enriches the lives of all the children in our care.

We recognise that all children are unique and therefore learn in different ways, as reflected by the DƒEE “A high quality curriculum uses varied approaches and teaching methods”.

In order to accommodate the needs of our children, we adopt a number of teaching strategies, mixing traditional teaching methods with more progressive styles such as Steiner and Montessori to provide the optimum learning environement for all in our care.

We keep the class size small to allow the curriculum to be closely tailored to the needs and interests of the children.

We encourage the children to use all their senses by incorporating many ‘hands-on’ experiences and constructive play, through a carefully planned curriculum, which incorporates the Foundation Stage of the National Curriculum. The children gain experiences that allow them to develop, explore and learn about:

Communication, Language and Literacy

Mathematics

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Creativity

Knowledge and Understanding of the World

Physical Development
